We are volunteers who work together to raise money, which is then distributed to the educators of the District for educational programs and/or educational capital items.  One-hundred percent of the net proceeds benefit the students of our District as their learning experience is enhanced by the programs and items financed by the grants.  The Foundation has awarded over $725,000 in grants to the District since its inception in 1997.

    How We Do It...

Dinner Dances
Our annual Spring Gala is our main fundraising event.  This event is held in the spring and is well-attended by parents, teachers, administrators, and residents of the community that show their support for the school district.  Local businesses and corporations provide items for a silent auction and we also have a large selection of sports memorabilia as a separate silent auction.  Tickets for the event go on sale around February.

Golf Outings
The golf outing is one of our key fundraising events.  The event is usually held in the fall at a nearby golf course.  Sponsorship opportunities include hole sponsorships, longest drive contest, closest to the pin contest, hole in one contest, lunch and cocktail hour. Attendees enjoy brunch and a wonderful morning of competitive fun.

Turkey Trot

One of our newest events is a Turkey Trot and Family Fun Run held in November. The Turkey Trot brings family members out for a morning of activities at the Westlake Middle and High School campus. No need to be an athlete. Your school spirit and community pride is all you need to participate!  With warm-ups hosted by professional local trainers, as well as plenty of indoor fun for children and teens alike (along with DJ Entertainment and mascots), this has become one of our most family-friendly events of the year.  Our most recent Turkey Trot was featured on Local News12 television.

Holiday Family Fun Night

A Holiday-themed Family Fun Night has brought the community together for our cause, just as the December Holiday season kicks off.  This event is typically held at a local restaurant, where we are happy to have "special guests," which include many of our students' favorite teachers, administrators, and Board of Education members. Oh what fun it is, to see the smile on an elementary aged child's face, as his or her teacher brings out and serves their favorite burger, fries or mac 'n cheese!   Raffles are held all night long by special elves.
